About JR Paralegal

We're a virtual paralegal and legal operations firm serving attorneys nationwide, organized into three practice groups: Private Client, Corporate & Cross Border (estate planning, trust administration, probate, cross border UK asset coordination), Litigation & Family Law, and Federal Specialties (immigration, bankruptcy).

Attorneys work with us through a monthly Standard or Elite retainer for ongoing caseload support, or Occasional Matter Support for one time project needs like a single eviction or estate matter. On the cross border side, we support UK solicitors and US attorneys on matters involving US situs assets, dual nationals, and international probate and trusts, backed by STEP Affiliate membership.

We're bilingual in English and Haitian Creole, NALA members, and Clio Certified. What sets us apart is flexibility. Firms scale support up or down depending on volume, without adding headcount.

Gina Janvier, Founder, JR Paralegal

Gina Janvier

Founder, JR Paralegal

I'm Gina Janvier, founder of JR Paralegal. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Salem State University and my Paralegal Certificate from Boston University, and I'm currently in law school working toward my J.D. I'm a NALA member, a Massachusetts Notary Public, and a STEP Affiliate, credentials that let me move fluidly between domestic casework and cross border estate matters with UK solicitors.

My specialty is estate planning and landlord tenant law, but attorneys bring me everything from family law to zoning, and I've built the range to handle it.

I started JR Paralegal because I saw too many attorneys buried in administrative work that pulled them away from actually practicing law, and I wanted to be the person they could hand that to without worrying about the quality slipping. Bilingual in English and Haitian Creole, I built this firm on precision, responsiveness, and treating every file like it's the only one on my desk.

Attorney Referral Network

Our partnership program connects attorneys for cross referrals across every practice area we support.

Frequently asked questions

No. All work is performed under the supervision and direction of the retaining attorney. We handle drafting, case management, and administrative support, the attorney retains all responsibility for legal advice and strategy.

Drafting documents, calendaring deadlines, coordinating service and filings, managing client and court communication, and keeping your case files organized, all under your supervision.

The monthly retainer (Standard or Elite) is built for firms with steady, ongoing caseloads. Occasional Matter Support is flat fee, project based pricing for firms with lighter or one-time needs, with hours or scope expiring after six months.

Yes. We support attorneys across multiple states, plus cross border estate matters with UK solicitors through our STEP Affiliate membership.

Retainer plans are month to month with no long term contract. Occasional Matter Support is a one-time engagement scoped to a specific matter.

Clients are billed directly through JR Paralegal, separate from the retaining attorney's own billing. We accept card, ACH, Venmo, and Zelle.

For UK matters, invoicing is in USD with reverse charge VAT applied, so UK firms handle VAT on their end rather than us charging it directly. Engagements are typically scoped and billed per matter under Occasional Matter Support, since most cross border work comes in as individual estate or trust matters rather than ongoing retainer volume. We accept card, wire transfer, ACH, and Venmo, whatever works internationally on your end.

We work in both. Our team understands the differences between UK and US probate and trust processes and adapts documentation and communication accordingly.

Cross border engagements are typically scoped per matter through Occasional Matter Support, though ongoing retainer support is available for firms with recurring cross border volume.

We work primarily with UK solicitors and private client teams handling estates or trusts with a US connection, dual nationals, cross border beneficiaries, or clients holding US based property or accounts.
